GAT2 Maintenance Update October 2008 |
Changes this version provides:
-
Greatly improved rebuilt-mast speeds
in both foxpro and sql
-
Rebuild mast in SQL now uses
server-side scripts which eliminate bandwidth problems
-
Fix error which resulted in deleting
a 4data instance from maintain/4data if the windows 4data program was
running.
-
Prevent multiple occurances of
import/4data from running. If someone else is running import/4data, the
program now notifies you and prevents the overlap.
-
Correct an obscure bug in calculate
overtime.
-
Correct errors in finding Hourly
Ratings resulting from “overlapping” employee numbers (1001 and 1001E,
the system would occasionally return an hourly rating for 1001E when
searching for ratings for 1001. This sub-string-match error has been
corrected.)
-
Greatly improve speed (foxpro and
sql) for “Remove inactive jobs from 4data devices” and “Remove Inactive
employees from 4data devices”
-
Fix bug in EXPORT routine for
reports which prevented exported files from being saved in any folder
other than the GAT folder. Fixed.
-
Sometimes, when changing companies
in Gat2, the previous company was not entirely closed. Therefore, standard practice
became to exit the program and re-start. This has been corrected and
changing companies both in Foxpro and SQL is now reliable.
Requests not yet served:
-
Minimum wage job pay rates (Jobs
tagged as paymethod “T”) are not updated from the prevailing
wage when update hourly rates is run from the transactions menu.
-
Next-wage-survey fields have not
been moved from the task screen to the job title screen.
Update process:
This update requires modifications to
the data-dictionary.
We will want to make an appointment for
running a data-dictionary comparison against your existing DD before
installing this update so that your changes (labels, pick lists, etc)
can be preserved.
SQL users will have an ADDITONAL STEP
to ensure that the new server-side scripts are installed and
operational.
The update process should take less
than an hour. You will need to ensure that no one is using GAT
during the process, and that you have excellent and fully-up-to-date
backups before beginning the update process.
Please contact the TBC Software VocShop
support agents to schedule your update.
